My yoga journey began in 2007…
In 2007, as a result of ongoing back pain, I decided it was time to move away from my previous fitness regime of running. I’d always been intrigued with the idea of yoga and thought I’d give it a try, hoping it could fill the space in my heart where running had left.
I was hooked from my first class. The poses looked so easy and yet my legs shook. At the end of the class I felt so calm and serene, in a way I never had done before. Before I knew it, I had gained a deep connection with yoga and really enjoyed how great it made both my mood and my body feel. And I could feel myself getting stronger and stronger. My once weak back ceased to cause me issues. I moved more easily in daily life and ached much less. And each time I attended a class I left with that same serene and calm feeling, like I was floating.
Yoga had became an integral part of my life, (just how integral I was still yet to find out). In the meantime, I sought to take as many classes as possible and even found myself learning everything I could, not just about the physical poses, but also the philosophy, the spiritual side and the breathwork.
I attended workshops, retreats and a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course. This was the springboard I needed and in 2014 I signed up for the British Wheel of Yoga 500 hour, Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga. I loved every moment of my course, absorbing the learning and began teaching in 2015. And I have never looked back.
Eventually I took a leap of faith and did the unthinkable- I quit my corporate job and began teaching Yoga full time.
I personally recommend Yoga to everyone in my life, because I know from my personal experience what a massive difference it can make!
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2015 now, have gained numerous qualifications and have invested in well over 1000 hours of training. Here are my main qualifications;
British Wheel of Yoga (500 hours) diploma in the teaching of yoga and meditation.

When I’m not practising I will be…
travelling to see new sights
I love to travel and learn about other cultures and life
I love visiting countries where Yoga is considered sacred, and a way of life, like India and Indonesia.
I also enjoy travelling out to beautiful locations for Yoga retreats. When Yoga is practiced around nature or in new surroundings, mindfulness is easier as you’ve broken your routine helping to clear your mind from the stresses of a modern working life.
Spending time with my Family
I have a husband, three beautiful sons and daughter in law who I love to spend time with whenever I can. And sometimes they even attend my classes. I also have two stunning white cats and a small dorgi called Yuna!
Living life on the veg
As well as practicing Yoga, my love of animals led me to become a vegetarian in 2007, the year I began yoga and a vegan from 2018. And I just love the health benefits it provides. I make up my own new recipes with veggies and fruit or just eat raw. I love the fact that the world has now opened its eyes to veganism and that I am welcomed in almost (but not all) restaurants around the world.
reading about yoga, philospophy, poetry
I’ve always been a book worm and can always be found with my head in a book or listening to audible. Usually these days its yoga or health related, it’s such a fascinating subject and there is just so much to learn.
Taking photos out in nature
I’ve adored photography since I was very young and I got my first Zenith camera in my 20’s. I particularly enjoy photographing nature, my family and sunsets.
Getting up off the couch and out into the natural world helps reminds me of the vastness of planet Earth and humanities interconnectedness with nature.
And all of a sudden, that frustration you had with that earlier no longer seems relevant in the grand scheme of things.
I also use photography as a form of mindfulness, find out how in my mindfulness classes and use many of my photographs in my yoga adverts.
wild Swimming
In the last few years I have discovered the joys of wild and cold swimming. I may only be in the water for 10 or 15 minutes on cold days, but the mental uplift it gives me can keep me buzzing for the whole week! I love to find beautiful places in nature to swim. It complements my love of the natural world, and allows me to practice mindfulness in nature. Simply the best! (Pic is of me and 2 of my sisters).
